Southern CHPP visit

The first of the planned trips within the short-term internship of students of the "Heat Power Engineering and Thermal Engineering" major to the CHPP of PJSC TGC-1 took place on October 5, 2023.

 

1st year Master's students visited Southern CHPP to explore the technical and economic performance of the equipment. The management and the entire staff of the CHPP demonstrated a very active interest in the training of graduates in this area. They told about the CHPP, about the equipment, about the key performance indicators.
 
Sergey Mikhailovich Ivanov, Head of CHPP, as well as heads and deputies of shops and departments, answered students' questions and interviewed guests to check the quality of their basic training.
 
Nikolay Ivanovich Vedirko, head of the TVET department (a 1987 graduate of Politech and a specialist in the same field), noted that he was concerned about the quality of training of current university graduates. However, the students answered all his questions correctly, and Olga Valentinovna Novikova, IE representative, Associate Professor of HSNHPE, was impressed with their answers.
 
IE and CHPP of PJSC "TGC-1" agreed to continue cooperation at the site of Southern CHPP and now 2 more groups of the students are planning to intern there. The CHPP management voiced their willingness to cooperate actively on joint research as part of graduation thesis and invited students of electrical engineering specialties to apply for job vacancies as well.
