Viktor Barskov, Director of the Institute of Energy, handed over memorable gifts and gold medals to our graduates.
- This is the first time we have graduated so many medalists, and for us these young people are an indicator of the quality of our education. And also, it emphasizes that power engineering is important, that power engineering is the future, and we are sincerely happy for our graduates, we are proud of them! Today is such a significant day for us, because these graduates are our bridge to the future, because the process of personnel renewal and rejuvenation of the power industry is underway. The vector for the development of science has been set, and power engineering, in particular, is a separate priority for the state. Neither industrial development nor scientific progress is possible without the energy sector. That is why for us "golden" graduates are a milestone in the development of our institute.
What does this medal mean to you?
Polina Karnaukhova: "Probably, I see it as a result of my hard work, determination, sleepless nights, efforts. In general, in any kind of effort that we put into it. This is recognition, this is pride, this is success"
What is the most memorable moment in your studies at Politech?
Alexey Guriev: "When we were assigned to specialisaions in the 3rd year, because it was then that we saw the competence of the faculty members who will teach us in the future. Politech is a university with the history, not only in the walls of the White building, but also in the faces. The moments that I will always remember are those when I met our teachers"
What are your future plans?
Alexey Kovrizhenko: "I can't say now what exactly I'm going to do, but I feel what direction is more to my taste. I have tried different areas, different departments: I studied metrology in college, I studied networks, automation, I felt interest in programming at the junction with energy. I applied my skills in my master's thesis. I think I will continue to develop in this direction, keep going and wish the same for everyone"
Grigory Mamontov and Artyom Nikolaev could not attend the ceremony, but we will be able to celebrate their successes at the first meeting of the Academic Council of IE in September!
