Company visit to the Turboatomgaz production complex

On April 1, students of IE and IMMiT visited one of the production sites of JSC Power Machines - Turboatomgaz Plant. The plant's current ambition is to produce 12 steam and 8 gas turbines per year.

The first stop for the students was the locksmith and assembly shop, which is engaged in assembly and preparation for assembly of 17 turbines, two of which are turbines for Ruppur (Bangladesh) and Kudankulam (India) nuclear power plants.

The second stop of the tour was the Gas Turbine Shop - the newest site on the territory of the plant, the place where the production "from the past" turns into the production of the "future".

In the gas turbine assembly shop the students saw with their own eyes unique stands - assembly of oil supply systems, assembly of combustion chambers, vertical assembly of rotors.

Then the students toured the 214 mechanical shop and 212 assembly and welding shop, where the housing parts for the first low-speed turbine for Kursk NPP are manufactured, as well as the process of combustion chamber welding for the first Russian-made GTE-170 high-capacity gas turbines.
